SHARC Bytes:
-- June 23, 2011, ARS WS3S is now operational from the Milford Pa location. CW, Phone, Digital on 160 through 6M. QRP through QRO. Its about time. Will be working ARRL FD as 1D EPA this weekend.
-- ARS WS3S is moving toward a return to the air, this time from historic Milford PA in Pike County. The new mailing address is established in the FCC database. It's a start!
-- AS 2010 begins, I type with a heavy heart, to report to you the passing of a great lady, and ham, K3MEH, Mary Huffman. K3MEL, Mel, informed us that Mary passed this morning at Pocono Medical Center. Those of us who were priveleged to know Mary understand the sadness this loss brings to Mel, his family and the entire Pocono ham community. Word are insufficient to express our sorrow.
-- CRS net was hopping the last few July nights. W3TSR was active on frequency under the careful watch of N3BUB, allowing Boy Scouts to make local and DX contacts. Thanks to all who participated along the east coast of the US. Pictures to follow.
-- It is with great sadness that I type this Byte. A good man, friend , and Ham Radio Operator has gone Silent Key. Mike, (John Michael McConnell), K2JMC. All who are left behind are dimished by his departure. Mike was well known in the amateur community in the NE PA and NW NJ region. A retired law enforcement officer, Mike was a straight shooter. He was an avid participant in the local nets. He was a great horse trader. It was my experience that Mike always gave more than he received, always. He will be missed, but always fondly remembered.
-- A passable January day, provided the window of opportunity for the raising of a 20M resonant dipole at the QTH of Mel and Mary, K3MEL and K3MEH. I see some SSTV on the horizon!
-- Northhampton County homebrew tilt over tower installation was followed up with a dipole raising last weekend. John, WS3S, Mike- W3MIK, and Darren- KC0NAH braved snow and high winds to raise an 80-10M Alpha-Delta shortened dipole.
-- Northhampton County homebrew tilt over tower installation occured last weekend. Pete- KB3HGG, Mike- W3MIK, Mario- N2MZZ, Darren- KC0NAH and Mrs. KC0NAH, got the tower/rotator and 2M beam in the air, plus a few dipole hangers in selected trees. Hope to have some photos soon. Nice work!
