I forgot what I remembered I forgot… -- N3AOI
28,405KC USB plus or minus QR-Mary and Nancy (sisters from Shahola)
Nobody remembers when the CRS net came into being.
But that’s not surprising because most of the usual participants,
Can’t Remember Stuff
Held on a frequency in the 10 meter band open to all license classes. The CRS net is a place to tickle the ether discussing radio and non radio related topics.
Most evenings the fun begins between 19:00 and 20:00 hours local time, and usually winds down around 21:30. Weekends and retirees naturally run a little longer.
A very informal round table for the long of wind and the short of short term memory. Where every once in a while the band goes long and produces some surprising contacts. All amateurs are welcome to participate.
Have trouble remembering the other guy’s call sign?
Can’t remember what you ate for dinner?
Lost track of your car keys and wallet?
Show up for the VHF contest on the wrong weekend?
Run a ground rod through your hand?
Relax! the CRS net is the place for you.
We even have an electric aide to help us all identify at the legal interval.
Give a listen on 28405 kilocycles, upper side band.
If the frequency is not in use; simply call “CQ CRS” a couple of times and see if you wake anyone up.
If the net is in progress when you arrive; just throw out your call and wait for us to throw it back.
If you don’t find the net on 28405; we either all forgot to turn on the radio that night, or we have had to adjust frequency a bit. So look up and down the dial about 50KC.
-- and when you do catch us, be sure to ask for my friend Camp.
